Facilities to student

Facilities provided to student :

Navodaya Vidyalayas are affiliated to CBSE and offer free education to talented children from Class-VI to XII. Each Navodaya Vidyalaya is a co-educational residential institution providing free boarding and lodging, free school uniforms, text books, stationery, and to and fro rail and bus fare to students. However, a nominal fee @ Rs. 600/- per month is charged from students of Classes- IX to XII as Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. The students belonging to SC/ST categories, girls and children of the families Below Poverty Line (BPL) are exempted from payment of this fee. VVN is collected @ Rs. 1500/- per student per month from the students whose parents are Govt. Employees

We maintain well equipped boarding facilities like : well built separate dormitories with all necessary basic amenities, such as water supply, light, fan etc. for both boys and girls. We provide furniture, stationary, daily use commodities, bedding items etc without any charge.

Frequent water supply through bore well and over head tank Hygienic conditions in and out side dormitories. Well maintained dinning hall with kitchen. Well maintained hygienic condition in and around dormitories and over all, around the campus. There is provision to accommodate 40 children in one dormitory under one highly capable house master. Children are divided into categories as junior and senior. We keep strict vigil over hostel boarders but with parental care keeping in view about the safety and security of your beloved one. There is constant supervision and monitoring of the children's activities by their respective house masters and house mistresses. We provide medical facilities by our qualified Visiting Doctor and Resident Staff Nurse. Who take care of the children along with the house masters and mistresses. A bi-weekly medical check-up is conducted for all children. Our house masters and mistresses care for children by frequent interaction and attending problems (if any) on regular basis, especially, about their psychological, physical and emotional problems.

    **For JNVs located at other than hard and difficult areas

    Rs.12420/-Per student per year

    (Rs.1380/- per student per month for 9 months)In addition, for miscellaneous mess expenditure including fuel for cooking, cleaning/washing and wages for casual workers engaged for cooking, an additional amount of Rs. 180/- per child per month (for 9 months) is also approved.

    **For JNVs located at hard and difficult areas

    Rs.14490/-Per student per year @

    (Rs.1,610/- per student per month for 9 months)

    In addition, for miscellaneous mess expenditure including fuel for cooking, cleaning/washing and wages for casual workers engaged for cooking, an additional amount of Rs. 307/- per child per month (for 9 months) is also approved.

    2 Uniforms

    (i) Rs. 2000/- per student per annum for JNVs located in temperate climate/costal areas.

    (ii) Rs. 2500/- per student per annum for JNVs located in extreme summer and normal winter areas

    (iii) Rs. 2800/- per student per annum for JNVs located in extreme winter areas.

    3 Text books Rs. 400/- per student per year
    4 Daily Use Toilet Items Rs. 1000/- per student per year
    5 Other expenditure on students including stationary, travel, medical, CBSE fees  (i) Medical Expenses @ Rs. 30/- per child per month for 09 months = Rs. 270/-

    (ii) Stationery - Rs. 85/-(iii) 

    Bedding -Rs. 600/-

    (iv) Appointment of part time Medical Officer/Doctor

    a) Honorarium to be  paid/Month Rs 20000/ if the distance of JNV is more than 10 Km from the Taluka Hq and more than 25 Km from Dist.Hq(9x20000=1,80,000/-) and in JNVs located in hard and difficult stations.

    b) In other JNVs it is Rs 5,000pm(9x5000=45000/)

    (v) CBSE fees - Actuals

    (vi) School Bag for class VI, & IX  students only - Rs. 300/-

    (vii) Travel Expenses - @ Rs. 20/- per child per month for 09 months = Rs. 180/- for local journey, actual III AC class in  rail/ AC bus fare for outstation official  journey.

    6 Daily allowance to student during journey only for participating in various events/activities outside the JNV.

Status

    1. Under Computer Education Programme, I.T. Accessories, educational softwares and absolutely required hardwares can also be procured.
    2. Service of experts can also be utilized by the institution for promotion of sports, yoga adventure activities etc.
    3. Expenditure on educational Excursions need not be restricted to migrated students. However, excursions to the places of Historical importance, cultural and scientific interest shall be organized for all children.
    4. Expenditure for specialized training on cultural importance like Bharatnatyam, Kuchippudi, Mohiniyattom. Folk Dance, SPICMACAY programme, Art in Education etc. can also be met from this fund.
    5. Expenditure on Safety and Security, Health care, providing academic tools, quality improvement activities like, providing clean drinking water, hot water facilities, clean toilets with tiles paved on the toilet floor, providing reading room facilities etc. can also be taken up.

            JNVs are also allowed to utilise VVN  w.e.f. 1.1.2018 for  following types of expenditures:

    1. Installation of CCTV camera in  the common area.
    2. Maintenance of CCTV   in the schools.
    3. Engaging the services of security personnel by outsourcing at the rate 2 personnel per school.
    4. Engagement of counselors on the part-time basis as per the approved norms.

Status

  • A full time Staff Nurse is appointed in each JNV to deal with emergency.

  • It has been approved to appoint part-time doctors to visit JNVs for two hours every day on all working days on payment of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) per month in respect of -

  • All JNVs located in hard and difficult areas. Other JNVs which are located beyond a distance of 10 kms. from Tehsil Hqrs. and 25 kms. from District Hqrs. In case of lesser number of visits the payment should be reduced on pro-rata basis.In other JNVs, honorarium of Rs. 5000/- (Rupees five thousand only) per month will be paid to the doctor for making 2 visits per week to the Vidyalaya.Additionally, Counsellors/Dentists/Eye Specialists, appointed by the Vidyalaya for the welfare of the students would be paid Rs.1,500/- per Visit.In addition to it facility of Vehicle to respond in case of any emergency is also provided.

Status

    Necessary instructions have been issued to JNVs for ensuring safety of students from fire accidents by installing adequate number of Fire Extinguishers and MOEFA. Prompt detection of an out-break of fire in its incipient stage and generation of alarm for quick and correct application of fire fighting media minimizes the loss from fire to a great extent. The purpose of a fire detection and alarm system is to detect a fire or its likelihood and generate audible and visual alarm to alert the building occupants.

    Status

    Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 has been implemented in JNVs. Necessary instructions have been issued regarding prevention of Sexual Abuse of Girl Child. A School Complaint Committee (S.C.C.) should be set up in each JNV to serve as complaints and redressal body. This Committee shall be chaired by the Principal/Vice- Principal of the school, and shall consist of five other members, i.e. one male teacher, one female teacher, one female student, one male student and one non-teaching staff member. Each Regional Office shall have a Cluster Complaint Committee (C.C.C.), with the Assistant Commissioner in-charge of the Cluster as its Coordinator. In addition, each of these Committees shall have a female officer as a member.
